Amersham Christmas Lights

Each year Amersham puts on a display of Christmas lights in both the Old Town and Amersham on the Hill.  Over recent years, the funding of the lights has caused problems.  Thanks to volunteers and Amersham Town Council, the lights have continued to be put up.  Local businesses have recently contributed little to the lights, the cost of which is rising owing to health and safety and the need to renew fittings and lights..
During November and through to twelfth night, the shops in Amersham decorate the streets with lights. Above is Sycamore Road Oakfield Corner on a cold December night. The road has been closed for a special late night shopping evening
On two nights before Christmas, the traders of Amersham-on-the-Hill and the Old Town organize late night shopping evenings with added attractions. Above is Sycamore Road The Saracens Head in Whielden Street lights up the area with a fine display of lights
