Rail and Tube
Services
Amersham Railway station is at the end of the Metropolitan
Line of London Underground. Amersham is also served by Chiltern Railways by
their London Marylebone to Aylesbury trains.
You can catch northbound
Chiltern Railways' trains to Aylesbury, the service is half hourly.
For
trains to London you can either catch the Metropolitan Line trains into Baker
Street and then onward to the City - via Euston, Kings Cross, Liverpool Street
(these take about 45-50 minutes to Baker Street and 60 minutes to the City). A
faster and more comfortable service is available by Chiltern Railways' trains
into London Marylebone, taking about 35-40 minutes. Tickets bought at Amersham
are valid on both services and trains run about every 20 minutes. For visiting
London's West End I would suggest using the Marylebone train service, for the
City use the Metropolitan service.

Taxis
There are taxi ranks at Amersham and Chalfont &
Latimer stations.
Other taxi firms are available including
Clover Taxis
Heathrow Airport
Heathrow can be
reached from Amersham on the tube, but it involves many changes. A faster, more
comfortable route would be train to Marylebone, taxi to Paddington, then the
Heathrow Express to Heathrow. Alternatively, local taxi firms will do airport
runs - use
Scoot or
Yell to locate a firm.
Further information about buses and transport to and from Heathrow,
Gatwick, Luton and Stanstead airports can be found on the transport section
of the Bucks County Council web site at
