Kfc Coming To Top Amersham?

17 posts in this topic

Hello everyone, I read on a local website that KFC is replacing Starbucks in top Amersham. Now - I love good home-made, hearty, healthy, locally sourced, seasonal, gourmet food............blah, blah, blah......BUT, and it's a big but - KFC is a guilty pleasure! I was glad that there wasn't one in Amersham! :D:o

Yes :) KFC is one of the things I've missed since moving to Amersham :)

If it is the same posting that I saw, the original comment was made in November last year. Think we would possibly have heard more by now if it was happening, but have to say I would welcome the chance to get the food m- but not welcome the litter problems that I know would follow their arrival.

And a quick Google doesn't reveal anything to confirm it - just sites like this discussing the possibility.

I have never had a KFC so cannot comment on its merits.

I have never driven there especially but if I am nearby I will take a detour to go to the Starbucks in the Beaconsfield Services, but oddly never the Starbucks in Saino's in Beaconsfield. Not sure why. My coffee of choice is a double shot tall (=small) latte.

Oh Sally, you've not lived! :)

The good thing about the one in Beaconsfield MSA is that because it's quite busy, the food is usually quite freshly cooked. I used the one on the Farnham road in Slough once or twice and although it was quiet and I got served quickly, I think the food had been cooked some time before I got there.

my craving for chicken fillet burgers

But not popcorn chicken. Who thought that up?

I've had the occasional chicken fillet burger but not for at least 7 years. I just can't quite get my head around the mayonnaise and shredded lettuce and I'm not keen on their chips!

For what? It can't be door to door and back, including parking, queuing and serving (at least, I hope that's not what you meant)!

One way drive. :)

I'm going to stop reading this thread now, it's making me hungry.

I think the issue will shortly reveal itself after KFC move in. Kids hanging around making a nuisance of themselves...

I don't think it's going to happen (for the reasons I gave earlier), but I did notice a big KFC advert on the bus shelter outside Domino's: I wonder if that is, subconsciously, feeding the rumour mill?
