The Award-winning Pubs of Penn Street Village are hosting their 6th Beer Fest on 13-15 July 2012. The pubs’ hugely successful summer event attracts over 3,000 people. This year’s fest will feature the well received family entertainment and almost continuous live music.
Highlights this year will include:
Beer tent and alehouse with OVER 85 British Ales and Ciders
Great live bands throughout each day
Children's entertainment including bouncy castles, slides, assault courses, coconut shy and more
Race Night
Traditional village cricket
RAF Flypast (TBC)
This year we will also be upgrading the level of facilities including parking and WCs.
The Fest will once again be raising money for local charities including Iain Rennie Hospice at Home.
The two award-winning pubs in Penn Street are great examples of the traditional British country pub. The different styles allow them to cover all the basics of great country pubs offering everything from:
- fine quality food, to hearty square meals
- dark winter evenings in front of open log fires in warm little nooks, to glorious summer days soaking up the village cricket
- evenings drinking fine wine with friends, to days kicking back with the family in the gardens
With a central green where cricket is played regularly, backed by the beautiful Penn Woods, it offers the perfect retreat from everyday life. Benefitting from being classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Penn Street has retained many of its listed buildings, with their roses and wisteria around the doors and a rich display of building styles.
Penn Street Beer Fest is a fantastic opportunity to soak up some of the village's charms, as well as take the time to meet new people, spend time with the family or just sample some of Britain's Finest Ale, the way it’s meant to be drunk...in a pub.
