I have it on good authority that a Mexican restaurant is opening in Hill Ave, near Carrolls. Apparently it's being fitted out at the moment but I don't know when it's going to open.
Did they not have their plans refused ?

- The Thot Plickens, Watson, what ho?
- An A1 belly-dancing accessories retail outlet, complementing the Dancers Boutique opposite?

Tantalisingly, Turkish newspapers were masking the shopfront windows there, on Friday around 5.30pm.
Top notch attention to detail, I like it!

(I wonder what that would be like...)
Sounds like another place like the greasy spoon on Sycamore Road... Hmm. Better than a chain coffee shop I guess.

Obviously you are way too young to remember Freds Cafe (caff) that used to be in Old Amersham Broadway, now that really was a greasy spoon...... Elsie the waitress and believe me i use the term lightly never was see in or out of the caff without a 'fag' in her mouth!!!!!!!!
Yes but the food was great and nobody ever got ill from it.

It plans to open in September, from 10am to 11pm, serving "cheap and cheerful food" such as lasagne and chips (together?!I have it on good authority that a Mexican restaurant is opening in Hill Ave, near Carrolls. Oddly, it seems they have a licence to serve alcohol (with some conditions) but don't yet have planning permission for change of use.

), possibly including one or two Turkish dishes.
It still is not open, the other morning the lights were on inside at 7:15, but no sign of life since.
Today, shop fitters seemed to be starting to work on the old Bargain Booze shop opposite

Apparently it was refused planning permission. See Amersham Station Vicinity eateries topic. It still is not open
Any ideas whether it will be a Subway (as rumoured) or something else?Today, shop fitters seemed to be starting to work on the old Bargain Booze shop opposite
Incidentally, the imminent Subway in Beaconsfield is trying to get a licence to stay open till 3am, though that is because it is hoping to get trade from those leaving a nearby night club (see Examiner article).

Does anyone know if this place has opened? What is the name of it?
Its called Feast and advertises itself as a Mediterranean Cuisine Cafe Restaurant.
The menu seems to be much the same as Master Chefs during the day.
The evening menu does not look very exciting. With seven pasta dishes, three risotto and salmon, swordfish and calamari being the only thing remotely med on the menu.

Yes, it's open. It's called Feast, but it's Mediterranean, rather than Mexican. See Feast thread.Does anyone know if this place has opened? What is the name of it?
