I'm struggling to work out how that might have happened, and I'm wondering if was pothole related.
Hopefully no-one was seriously hurt. From the look of the totalled car the occupant(s) will have been thankful for seat belts.

Does anyone know details of the accident on Station Road at lunchtime today? I heard the emergency vehicles (at least 2) going down the hill at some speed, and quite some time later the aftermath was still in evidence - a car going downhill had crossed the road and hit a boundary wall/tree, a police car was still there with lights flashing.
I'm struggling to work out how that might have happened, and I'm wondering if was pothole related.

It looked like quite bad damage to me but mostly it looked caused by the car going into a wall.
I too wondered about whether it was pothole related... maybe a car coming down and a car going up both dodging potholes.

I hope the driver is doing well.

Let's just stop blaming the council for every single little thing that goes wrong. People need to take some responsibility for themselves.

I thought the same but as I hadn't driven on Station Road for a few days didn't know if a huge one had opened up recently. Station Road is a bit bouncy but none of the potholes that I'd seen last week would have been deep enough to cause a puncture, which could have caused a car to veer out of control if it was being driven fast. There are NO potholes in Station Road that would cause a properly maintained car with a competent driver to end up in someone's front garden.

A car driving down one of the very steep side roads failed to stop at the bottom (foot slipped off the pedal?), went straight across two lanes of traffic and into a tree on the other side. The driver escaped with a badly bruised hand. Thank goodness it wasn't an awful lot worse.

Anyway after checking the hill today I realized that there aren't any potholes near where the accident was anyway.... the worst of the potholes are further up nearer The Rise.
