BFP Article

We have already planned further checks across Bucks, with the aim of getting the safety message across and reducing casualties on the county’s roads.

Come across quite a few drivers on their mobiles. One idiot was coming onto the A41 at Hemel via the slip road, on his mobile, looking the other way.Seemed he no idea I was there, aproaching him already on the A41.Really worrying.

I'm amazed how many drivers I still see who are conspicuously using hand-held mobiles while driving - often while negotiating junctions.

I am not so aware of many people driving around unbelted, though I am sometimes shocked to see people safely belted in themselves, with unrestrained children in the back.

At one level, I'm all for a crackdown, but with limited resources, how much effort should the police put into it compared with other offences?

Its not that bad an earner for them, but most importantly it might get the message home to some of these drivers. They could mainly do it in spurts.Yes its a strain on resources, but if it prevents serious accidents then its worth it.Would save them the resources invloved with attending a crash and all the follow up work.
