Hi All!
I live in Chesham but haven't lived here long, almost a year in fact.
I want to take a short break some time in the middle of November as I have a week off before starting my new job in London. Rather than going somewhere I don't know just for the hell of it, I suddenly thought.... why not holiday here?!? I don't know that many places here and I would love to get to know it better.
Could anyone recommed a place to go? Ideally I am looking for somewhere picturesque in the countryside, a small bed and breakfast with shops and a nearby village, but also somewhere with walking trails and views of the Chilterns' stunning countryside.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Oh, I should say I am particularly interested in areas of outstanding natural beauty, and a place where somehow I can support the village where I am staying, if you see what I mean? I am also hoping to get into agricultural law someday.... all a bit random I know, but if you can help I would be very grateful!

Aldbury is a very picturesque village in Herts, near to the glorious Ashridge forest and Tring (small town, with an offshoot of the Natural History Museum, mainly comprising stuffed animals - but much better than that sounds!). The Greyhound has accommodation, though I haven't stayed there myself.

Aldbury, near Tring, should fit the bill. Very pretty village, with duckpond, village shop and old stocks, a couple of good pubs, several B&Bs and lots of lovely country walks. The wooded Ashridge Estate, with the Bridgwater Monument is about a mile away (horizontally and almost as much vertically
)
A bit further afield is Ewelme in Oxfordshire. Another lovely village, with historic old schoolhouse and almshouses, watercress beds, a good pub. Not sure about accommodation but I'm sure you will find something on Google. To my mine this is an even nicer part of the Chilterns than around here (hope I don't get banished from the forum for that remark).

Aldbury is tucked right under the escarpment, I can't think of anywhere that would fit the bill better.
