As you probably know (so many signs), the Hyde End Craft Fair is quite a big event. It's on twice a year and in the 6 years we've lived here, I've been 7 or 8 times. A good range of items and prices, but in some ways, very similar each year.
This time was very different. There were only half to two thirds as many stalls as usual (it was a new layout so hard to make a definite comparison) and the far fewer cars outside.
I suppose the collection of bank holidays and fine weather might have meant more people were away than usual, but it can't be the whole story. I presume recessionary times are partly to blame. Very sad.
What there was was still good (last day tomorrow), but less to choose from.
