Tonight I noticed lots of pavement markings (lines, numbers, various colours) on the pavement between Cargo and the zebra crossing. Presumably changes are afoot, but does anyone know what?

Haven't seen these particular markings, but usually they are there to show the position of various services so that e.g. roadworks don't cut through a water main. I imagine the pavement is going to be dug up.

I think it's to do with the gas works that are currently ongoing in the area.
