Apart from Shardeloes (which I personally didn't like) the nearest riding schools are Rose Hall Farm which is in Sarratt near Chipperfield http://www.rosehallf...o.uk/index.html and one New House Farm which is near Chorleywood http://www.mogozout....ing-Chorleywood. I've not been to either of these two but the one in Chorleywood is council licenced.

Brawlings Farm was quite good for my Daughter, they also run a Pony Club. they do group and individual lessons. If you ring and get no answer eave a message, they will ring back. Or better still drop in and do a face to face.

Not that Ive used them but Aescwood farm children's riding school in Seer Green is another one. Its on the edge of hodgemoor woods so children probably get to hack out as well as doing indoor schooling. They are mostly ponies so no worries of your child being "over horsed".
