Just a flagger-upper for fellow cycle-commuters to Amersham station. My bike was locked up on Friday but alas, not with a big strong lock, and it has now gone. I thought the bike thieves would not bother with it, as it is (was) a bit of an old boneshaker, but I guess I was wrong. Be careful!!
(and I am in the market for a new one...if you have one to sell, I have posted an ad in the wanteds)

My son had his pinched from there, lucky in a way that it was old and rusty.
So now he walks to the station.
Very annoying.

Just heard that a neighbour had his taken a couple of weeks back. Just a cheap thing. I'm thinking that it's someone selling them for scrap. CCTV didn't show much, a guy in a hoodie, could have been anyone.
I won't ride my bike into Amersham anymore, there's nowhere safe to leave them no matter how good the lock.

There's an old post here:

Seems the problem with bike thefts still continues from the station. They probably realise the owners will be out of town after rush hour.
