"The official consultation period on the proposal to change the school’s status to an academy launches on Monday 23 April and runs for six weeks, ending on Friday 1 June.
Make sure you get involved and have your say on the name of the proposed academy, what the uniform should be and what the new logo should look like. We want parents, carers and the local community to be involved in the life of the proposed academy right from the start, so please take this opportunity to share your views."
Details of various ways to complete the questionnaire are on the above website. Please take a look!

So, no consultation on whether it should become an academy at all then?

In fairness it does ask that question, but oddly after more crucial questions like what colour should the uniform be, and should they wear blazers or sweatshirts. Pointless stuff, and pretty poorly executed - wouldn't fill me with confidence.

The DfE states that free schools and academies must not teach creationism as if it were a scientific theory, but many religiously-attached free schools/academies are using the freedom from slavishly following the National Curriculum to introduce such changes, ignoring the wishes of many parents, the rights of the children to receive a 21st century education and the requirements of their continued state funding.

I'm not saying that BL would seem an obvious candidate for this kind of change, but the opportunity has been jumped upon by special interest groups during the conversion of other schools.
