Amersham bowling club want to extend their clubhouse in Hervines Park. CH/2012/0554/FA. It seems that the existing clubhouse is ridiculously small but it is on greenbelt land and the council seem to have gone to great lengths to stress it will have no negative impact. I am wondering if it will have an effect on traffic as the car park is quite small and often full of council vehicles.
Hervines Park is a wonderful amenity and well used and I think local people need to be aware of this application.

About time the bowls club were allowed decent facilities. I remember from to 60s to the 90s the desire for an extension to the building, but it was not allowed. As for more traffic, I would have thought all the new houses in the area has created traffic already. The area used to just be large houses, now there are many more people living in the area.

Oh very funny. My only concern was the impact on Hervines and that local people should be aware that the development was taking place.

Well I hope they take the parking issues into consideration, parking has become increasingly difficult there at weekends, parking on the road leading up to it seems the only solution, but increasingly that's leading to more and more annoyed locals and impatient drivers as you have to take a mad dash at getting past the parked cars and into the road leading to the parking area before you encounter a car or truck coming the other way which causes tail back and also what it it did this weekend; a mexican standoff.
If this does get the go ahead, they need to widen that access road and consider ,marking out parking bays, or it will continue to deteriorate into chaos.
