Was March 31st, then June 30th, now September 30th!

Realise it's petty to moan about such a First World Problem as unavailability of FTTC, but once you've had it it's hard to go backwards. I do hear similar complaints about other areas continually getting deferred though.

Having said that, I have noticed that my ADSL speed has increased recently from around 3Mb/s to over 5Mb/s - perhaps some prep work on the local network? The headline speed is OK, but it's the halved ping with Infinity that really makes the difference I feel.

Amersham was the same last year, started of as feb but we got it towards the end of the year (September from memory). We now get around 30m down and 8 up so worth the wait.

Yes, I got my line upgraded on the 2nd day of activations in Amersham then moved house a few months later and lost it!

The general problem for the BT infinity roll-out is actually more commercial than it is technology issue. The take up in many area's simply isn't meeting expectations, so the planned investment has had to be understandably slowed.

No doubt, yes. Still annoying though.

Might see if I can get something put in the village newsletter to get more notes of interest put in with BT, get it 'over the line' so to speak.

Maybe it's not missing. If you had ever felt a halved ping with infinity you might know what he means.

I apologise in advance for paraphrasing someone else, but I suspect Bawbag is saying, "I have enough bandwidth, now I want speed of propagation" which for the layman means, "I can move large amounts of data and that's lovely, but now I'd like to move small to medium amounts of data faster".

Thanks, Paul. The last time I heard reference to "speed of propagation" was my ex-wife expressing broodiness. I fear I may have completely lost the plot.

That makes for pretty depressing reading.

I wonder why BT/Openreach would go to the bother of installing the cabinet then decide not to enable it?

I would imagine that installing it comes under one budget/KPI and enabling it is another.
