I noticed yesterday that the shop next to Raj Gate (a few doors along from Ask) is about to open as a branch of Hobbs. That fits quite well with many of the other ladies' clothes shops in the old town, but on the other hand, is perhaps making it rather too samey. Even sticking with a clothes theme, men and children are somewhat overlooked by the shops in the town.

That said, I'm happy (I don't have many Hobbs clothes, but those I do have are amongst my favourites, and now I won't need to go to House of Fraser in Wycombe).

On both points, a mistress of understatement!

It opened today, and it turns out that it only stocks one of the sub-brands, "Invitation", which is the most formal one, though there were a couple of pairs of more casual trousers. A bit of a shame, in my opinion, as that overlaps more with the existing shops than some of their other ranges do, but I suppose they may adapt if it seems sensible.
