Strange I thought this had already been completed.

Wait till christmas, being able to go both ways up each lane will cause chaos. I still blame CDC for not letting them have an entrance on Station Road and exit via the existing entrance/exit.

It has unless they are planning to change it again!

It has, and it is a real improvement. Preventing parking either side of the main access has stopped most of the tailbacks. And the new greengrocery area is an improvement too.

It has, these look broadly to be the changes that were made last month. Some of the disabled/parent& child allocation is different, but the traffic flow etc. is accurate.

No idea if it is just the CDC planning site that is out of date.

It's like that now and much better. I agree that a left turn only exit onto Station Road would make a lot of sense.

I think the new car park layout is a significant improvement - in particular, the fact that the main zebra crossing is after the point at which most cars peel off into the rows of bays. The pickup/drop-off bay is not a bad idea, either, though it was unused on my way in and out.

To those suggesting an exit onto Station Road, I presume you're suggesting it join the roundabout at the bottom, rather than exit further up?

As for the interior, the initial vista of the fruit and veg is more appealing than what was there before, but other than that, I didn't notice any significant differences.

I doubt that whatever they do to the car park will improve the quality of their food or the way in which they treat their suppliers!

Agree it is an improvement, however its a pain to park if u just want to go to the cash machine and Foxs' must hate them as if you park in that area there are no places to put your trolley...and they always end up in a heap over one side, near the entrance to Foxs'!

The Examiner lists two new planning applications:
  • CH/2012/0859/AV: "Replacement signage scheme to store, carpark, ATM building and petrol station at Tesco Stores Limited, London Road".
  • CH/2012/0981/FA: "Alterations to existing access road and car park at Tesco..."
I haven't looked them up online to see further details.

I think they have gone ahead and done it - the petrol station definitely has a new sign...

I used the new pick up area today for the first and last time. Rubbish. There is no zebra crossing over the first road access so you have to dodge the cars who are fed up of waiting at the main crossing. Also there is no access to the trolley park once you have loaded your shopping into the car. They did not even leave a side access to get to the other side to put your trolley away, you have to just leave it in the pick up zone or take it all the way round on the road. Very poorly thought out.
