As for local pizza places, I don't think you can go too far wrong with 'Ask' in Amersham Old Town. Not onlyare the pizzas yummy but the restauarant has a lovely ambiance too.

Ask is OK, I've eaten in their restaurants many times but it's not up to the place in Exeter (can't remember the name as too long ago) or the legendary Trattoria Sorrento on the Gloucester Road in Bristol. Have to say that 'Pizza and Pasta' about half a mile further up the Gloucester Road is also pretty good, so is the Blue Goose heading up towards Filton.
See my comments on one of the other threads.

The pizza is LOVELY, I think that the smallest is 13" and the largest 15". It's a thin base and to die for.
It's been running for at least 30 years and Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr, Mick Jagger (can't remember the other famous people) ate in there whenever in the UK.
Lots of choice on the menu and their Garlic Bread is yummy too. It's made from thick slices of bloomer bread.....I'm dribbling just thinking about it.

Ah yes, of course Tallguy! I know the place now. How could I forget - I went there the evening before getting my final results! It's next to Saddles and Paddles. The pizzas are ENORMOUS and very tasty! The restaurant itself is very cool as it;s like a little cavern.

Ditto. Pizza Express is the only place I'd choose to eat pizza outside Italy.the best Pizza in Amersham comes from Pizza Express
My favourite is four seasons - without any cheese! And they never pull a face or muddle the order when I request it that way.I like a Giardinera with tuna and a soft egg.
Just another way American "culture" takes over European. Plenty of people think pizza is an American dish, but US-style pizzas are nothing like Italian ones.the American Hot - if you want that kind of nasty thing, save your money and get one delivered from Pizza GoGo or something.

Glad you have sampled the delights of Pizza in the Quays Chard. Sadly they don't deliver. Suggest you make the trip to Exeter Eaton.

I like Rucola's pizzas, but have only ever eaten in - not tried their takeaway.

It won't be very appetising by the time I get it home! Would prefer to head back to R. Lane and Silver Dollar for a truly great pizza.
For a good pizza, Ask or Pizza Express is fine. However, if I'm going to have a Pizza Express, I just buy it from Tesco's and save the money and the effort of going out.I If you add some thin slices of garlic sausage (from the french market) before cooking it gives it a good kick.
I also like Tesco's Finest quattro formagio and if you're hungry and have forgotten to defrost any food for supper it can be cooked from frozen in 10 mins.

The Chicken, Bacon and Mushroom Tesco pizza was rubbish though....
Like I say if you want 'home cooked' Tesco pizza, only go for Tesco's Finest.

However, whereas in Amersham I had to push very hard to have the bill corrected, in Moreton, they apologised and corrected it without fuss.
