Hi everyone,
we are moving to old amersham in June and currently looking for your views on the local primary school as the OFSTED report is over 2 years old and the school seems to have acquired a new headteacher that year.
any comments would be of some help!

There are several primary schools in Amersham, so if you want comments on a particular one, you'll probably need to be more specific. I'm afraid I can't help you on that count though as we only moved to Amersham just after our son finished primary school elsewhere.

On a slightly different tack, see Bucks CC Education for information about Bucks schools, admission procedures, catchments etc. Of course you can view league tables via BBC education (type school name in box towards top right), but I'd take them with more than a teaspoon of salt.

Thanks for that mego prompt reply -gosh it made me feel as if i already belong to the community; now as far as i am aware the only primary school in old Amersham is St marys (but i could well be mis-informed°therefore i am seeking views and opinions about this particular one.

Sorry, my fault - I didn't spot the word "old" (maybe it's because I am getting "old"?!).
Anyway, hopefully someone here can give you comments about St Mary's.

my son starts at st mary's in september. we've had a look around and were really impressed with what we saw. the headmistress has just come back to the school after maternity leave and seemed very enthusiastic when we spoke with her. can't tell you much else though!

I have friends whose children attend St Mary's and they think it's fantastic.

I'll be sending my children there.
