After reading this board myself and my mate decided to visit Bombay Dream at Wooburn Moor, nr Loudwater, High Wycombe, on Monday evening. Living in Shropshire, and travelling from there to Calais and back in one day we wanted somewhere for a decent curry.

Bombay Dreams did not disappoint. Arriving at 1810 (on Monday 18th June) there was another couple deciding on a take-away and another couple and their son arrived soon after. During our visit another three diners arrived, not bad for a Monday evening before 1930.

The service was attentive but not intrusive. The food was absolutely superb. I had the cream cheese stuffed chillis, this was a bit bland, but my mate proclaimed the Prawn Pathia Moni Puree excellent, there was loads of it too. We then plumped for garlic chilli chicken and chicken jalfrezi, mushroom rice, special rice and peshwari naan. The rice was moist and flavoursome, the tase of the spices really came through. The chicken dishes were absolutely first class, the spoces all subtle and sublime and the meat melt in the mouth. No chewy dry chicken here! The naan was superb too, fresh with a sultana puree in it and a just slightly firm skin coating the hot soft naan.

Myself and my mate agreed this was the best indian we had ever had, praise indeed from my mate who eats loads of them.

It isn't the cheapest ever but good value because the food is so good. Starters £4.95-£5.95, main courses mostly £6.95-£7.95. There are quite a few special dishes including lobster and sea bass fillets which are obviously dearer. The traditional dishes are here as well as some I had not seen before.

We would definately return again and recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fresh Indian food where you can taste and enjoy lots of different spices in the food rather than the usual 'obliterated by garlic/chilli' indian food.

me and my cousin went there last year on a sunday and the buffet was lovely and a good mixture.. didnt go hungry. will go again soon

After all the discussion here and on Which is the best curry thread, we followed the hype and ignored the nasty location (sandwiched between A40 and M40) and unappealing exterior (faded white paint, neon signs and a blackboard advertising a Sunday all-you-can-eat buffet) and tried Bombay Dream.

Inside is much nicer, the service was friendly and the food was really excellent, both in range and quality. In particular it had several unusual fish and seafood items. The scallop starter and the S Indian Seafood Labadda were particular highlights. It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday evening though.

So, all in all, we preferred it to all the ones in Amersham, good as some of them are. Still, they do have the advantage of being near enough to be able to choose between eating in and taking away.

Well, I decided to believe the recommendations here and tried it out this evening. You were all right - it's an excellent place. Good food and very friendly and attentive service.
They are offering 25% off at the moment so we came away having spent only a shade over £15 a head (plus tip) - fantastic value.

Definitely - we were there last night and it was very full. The food was still excellent, though the delivery of it was a little on the slow side given the number of customers and problems they'd had earlier in the day with the boiler.

And at the moment it's 25% off your total bill!

They've had the 25% sign up for several weeks, with no indication of how long it applies for.

However, first time we went, it was full price, and it was still worth the money.

Oh god yes, it is the best Indian we had ever had, and well worth the money for the quality. Thanks for all your help.

6.95 for a main does not normally = quality. I will go there next week and see if i eat my own words. They may seem tasty after a curry with £2's worth of meat.

Don't be put off by the location or by the exterior. And if you like seafood, try scallop starter and the S Indian Seafood Labadda.

We went there tonight for the first time in quite a while. It's still very good, and they're still doing the strange thing where they have 25% off their advertised prices (including drinks), apparently indefinitely. I presume the rules about having to have sold sale items at the higher price don't apply to food. Anyway, the food is good and price-wise it's about the same as eating in at Lemon Grass etc, but in a more spacious and relaxed environment.
