Amersham Railway station is at the end of the
Metropolitan Line of London Underground.
Catch northbound Metropolitan trains from Baker Street Underground station to
Amersham. The service is half hourly and takes about 50
minutes.
Amersham is also served by Chiltern
Railways by their London Marylebone to Aylesbury trains. You can
catch northboud Chiltern Railways' trains to Aylesbury (via Amersham), the
service is half hourly and takes about 40 minutes. The Chiltern Railway trains
are faster and more comfortable than the Metropolitan trains.
Tickets to and
from Amersham can be used on both Chiltern and Metropolitan services.
For
trains to London you can either catch the Metropolitan Line trains into Baker
Street and then onward to the City - via Euston, Kings Cross, Liverpool Street
(these take about 50 minutes to Baker Street and 60 minutes to the City). A
faster and more comfortable service is available by Chiltern Railways' trains
into London Marylebone, taking about 40 minutes. Tickets bought at Amersham are
valid on both services and trains run about every 20 minutes. For visiting
London's West End I would suggest using the Marylebone train service, for the
City use the Metropolitan service.
