The procession continues along Sycamore Road with a good turn out of spectators enjoying the day

The carnival in 1973 in Sycamore Road. The "cycle" seemed to be a permanent and popular float in the procession for many years.

I am very pleased that the Carnival still takes place in Amersham. I really appreciate all the hard work that goes into taking part. I have taken part in years gone by - I pushed a hospital bed around the streets with someone in it supporting hospital radio. But I do believe the Carnivals of years gone by were better with many more taking part, although they did not perhaps have to worry about as much red tape as they have to contend with now.

We've now moved onto 1985 and the Carnival prepares to turn from Chiltern Avenue into Woodside Road.
